I went to see the Jackie Robinson biopic, 42, twice this weekend because it was just that fucking amazing. Aside from just the cinematography and acting, both of which were phenomenal, the message of the film was awesome. Whenever, I watch segregation films that depict racism, I can’t imagine what it must’ve been like to live that way. Though there’s certainly racism today, can you really picture not being able to use the bathroom because you’re black? It’s so easy to lose sight of how black people were forced to live, not that long ago, but the movie reminded me that we should never forget. Nicole Beharie was amazing. Harrison Ford was amazing. And Chad Boseman was uber-amazing. If you haven’t seen it, please do.
